John D. Miller-50th Birthday Party-May 17, 2009

On May 17th we helped our oldest son (John D.) celebrate his
50th birthday. He is about to catch up with John and me. LOL!!
We had a "GREAT" time and John's wife (Lynda) gave a great
party. We had a fun time and lots of good food.
They had pony rides for the kids (as you will see in the pictures) even the "BIG" kids enjoyed
the ponies.
It was a wonderful day with family and friends but hard to believe our
oldest son is 50. He is not the oldest child, just the oldest son. We have
two daughters older than John D.
In a few days we will head back to Kansas for a wedding and
Donna's dad has a doctor appointment. Then off to Missouri for a dance
recital for two of our youngest granddaughters.
May has been a busy, busy month.
We have enjoyed all the activities.

These are some pictures of John D. when he was young.
Lynda put on the computer for us to enjoy.

Cody's Graduation from Cowley College - May 9th

On May 6th we left Texas (home base) and headed for Kansas again to attend the Eighty-Sixth
Commencement of our grandson, Cody, from Cowley College. Cowley is only a two year college.
Cody plans to continue his education in New York City, N.Y. starting this coming August.
We had a good time and nice visit with our daughter, Kim, and grandchildren, Cody, Shane, Sydney and Cody's girlfriend, Kelsey. Kelsey also graduated at this time. She plans to attend Wichita State this coming fall. It was a fast trip and we are now back in Texas to celebrate our
oldest son (John's) 50th birthday party on May 17th. Isn't that Great!!
And yesterday, John and I became Great-Great Aunt and Uncle again. Now isn't that "Great"!! May is going to be busy with graduation's, wedding's and birthday party's so the traveling is on hold for now.

Back In Texas

We are back in good ol Texas for a few days. John and I, both have dental appointments next week. We will be heading back to Kansas around the 6th or 7th of May as Cody (grandson) is
graduating from Cowley County College on May 9th......this is in Arkansas City, Kansas.
It is just a two year college and he plans to continue in New York.
Sydney our granddaughter that had the surgery on her spine is recovering very well. Sydney and Cody are brother and sister, they are our youngest daughters children.
We will only get to Ark City at this time as we have to be back in Texas for a 50th birthday party for our oldest son, John Dale on May 17th.
Then at the end of May will be heading for Lee's Summit, Mo. to go to a dance recital for 2 of our
youngest granddaughters, Tiarnyn and Cecilia.
June 7th back to Texas for a high school graduation for another grandson, Cameron.
John & Lynda's youngest son. (John is our oldest son, the one turning 50 in May). Gee!! Are we
getting old? The sign in the window of the RV reads "Growing Old is Mandatory" "Growing Up
is Not"! Let me tell you, John lives by this....
THEN June 15th we have to be back in Wichita, Kansas for John to have a cataract removed from his right eye. Looks as if May and June are full with appointments and family activities.
Hopefully after all this we can take our next adventure.
We are looking forward to going to see the Red Woods in Northern California. Maybe even going
to Branson, neither one of us have been there.

Windy Kansas!!

We often wonder why we come back to KANSAS.

The main reason is we still have FAMILY and FRIENDS here.

We got into Wichita, Kansas on March 31st to see Sydney (granddaughter) our youndest daughter (Kim's) daughter.
Sydney was in the hospital to have surgery to straighten her
spine on Monday, March 30th. We were waiting for the snow
storm to get over with before coming so we didn't get to Kansas
until the day after her surgery.
She was released from the hospital on Saturday, April 4th and
is home in Ark City and doing very well.
She still has a little pain and will be out of school for a month.
Even though Sydney has gone home we are still in Wichita
waiting for the wind to calm down so we too can go to Ark City
for a few days.
We will come back to Wichita, April 15th, as Donna's dad has a
doctor appointment on the 16th before heading back to beautiful
Texas. "CALM TEXAS" "NO WIND" "LOVE IT"
