After leaving Lee's Summit on Monday, August 3rd we took highway 71 south down to Little Flock/Rogers, Arkansas and picked up highway 62 east over to Eureka Springs. Let me tell you highway
62 is not for driving a 40 foot motorhome on........lots of hair pin curves and John could only drive 15 miles per hour most of the time. It took us around one and half hours to get to Eureka Springs.......only about 40 or 50 miles. The RV Park we are staying at is off 62 east on Passion Play Road and is called Wanderlust RV Park.
We are not far from the Christ Of The Ozarks......on the same road.
On Tuesday, August 4th we drove back to the historic loop of Eureka Springs. Had lunch and checked out all the shops or some of them........did lots of walking.........John loved it. LOL!!
Today, Wednesday, August 5th we decided to go on up to see the "Christ Of The Ozarks" and
go on north to see what was up there.
At the Christ of the Ozarks there is a Bible Museum, Sacred Arts Center, Church in the Grove,
and a few other buildings.
After leaving there we drove on north on another highway, very curvy and hilly to Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway.
After the train stop we went on to magnetic spring......a small spring coming out of the hill. Then on to a little town called Holiday Island and had lunch. After lunch we decided to go back and see if we could find a casino for awhile...........staying on this highway
will take you back into Missouri. Eureka Springs is not far from the Arkansas/Missouri border.
We did find this small casino, called Spinzzz Casino, so we stopped to check it out. John said this is not what he calls a casino. On all the machines it said "for amusement only". He spent 4 bucks and we left. We have never been in a casino like this.
We may go see the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down Music Theater one evening and back to the Historic Loop as we did not see all of it.
Stay with us as we don't know what we will be doing from day to day.
