Downtown Tucson & Desert Diamond Casino

Today December 18th we took highway 19 south from I-10
Tucson, down to San Xavier Indian Reservation to a Casino called Desert Diamond Casino.
It wasn't very far off I-10 and from the RV Park. We had lunch at a very nice restaurant there.
Of couse John did all the gambling and I picked out the machines for him to play. I think he enjoyed the day.........didn't win Big......
but didn't lose either. The weather is still beautiful here.

I LOVE the weather but don't really care for the town.

Downtown Tucson! Yesterday December 17th we went into the downtown area and walked

around a little. The following pictures are a few I took of downtown Tucson.

The pictures with all the color buildings

were in an area called El Presidio San Augustin

del Tucson. The fort build by the Spanish in 1775

to stake claim to the northern frontier of New

Spain.

Located in the El Presidio Historic District is the little city block of Old Town Artisans.

The 150 year-old adobe building has six distinctive shops and

galleries. Construction of the adobe buildings was begun in the

1850s. The 1882 Tucson Directory lists a grocery store, as well as

a variety of early residents.

At a lot of their corners and roads......there are decorative pictures or paintings.

Nice town to visit.........
