Trees In Pennsylvania!

I couldn't get over how beautiful the trees were yesterday while driving in Ohio and West Virginia............. so today, Wednesday, October 7th on our way through Pennsylvania I decided
to try and take some pictures of the trees while I was driving.

Didn't really get any good pictures but what I did get I wanted to
share with you. The hills were full and red, green and yellow.
BEAUTIFUL.....BEAUTIFUL
Also there are a lot of tunnels..........today we went through 4 of them and lots of toll roads.

So far we have driven 1,343 miles. We will make it to our RV Park
tomorrow night in Freehold, New Jersey.

Don't know how it happened but we lost a cover on the right back wheel today. I never did see it
come off. When we stopped for the night and set up I noticed it was gone.

Like I said I didn't get pictures to do it justice............

See you in New Jersey and New York.

Headed For New Jersey/New York by Way of Kansas

BACK IN KANSAS!!
After leaving beautiful Loveland/Estes Park Colorado we are now back
in Wichita, Kansas for doctor appointment, eye appointment and flu shot for Donna's dad.
We will be here a few days and then on our way to New York to see a grandson (Cody) going to
college there. Cody's school is in Manhattan and his dorm is in Brooklyn.

We will plan on parking the RV in Jersey City, New Jersey. Only one RV Park there.

So far while back in Kansas we drove up to Cottonwood Falls, Ks.
to visit with John's sisters and brother in law. Pat, the oldest sister
had just had back surgery and was staying with Barbara and her
husband, Floyd. Almeda, John's youngest sister also lives in
Cottonwood Falls and Helen, next to youngest sister, rode with us
to visit. It was a good time and always great to see family.

Barbara had a hummingbird feeder out so I was able to take these pictures.

We all set out on the deck after eating lunch and WHAT A LUNCH, visited for about 3 hours before going back to Wichita.
Barbara is a great cook!!

Hope you will follow us to New York.......Should be a "great" adventure. Hope to see the
STATUE OF LIBERTY......

Our Last Day in Estes Park!

Our last day in beautiful Estes Park.

We decided to see if we could find some History of Estes Park.
After checking our map of the town we spotted Estes Park Museum.

Estes Park has a unique history that has been well preserved in the area's many museums.

These deer were in a small park right in the middle of town.
This is the park where they had their arts and crafts show
a few days ago. The deer didn't seem to be afraid of people.

This is were we had lunch today and this is where we were
satting until a rain cloud came over us. Only lasted about 5 or 10 minutes.

This is a beautiful place!

This is some of the items displayed in Estes Park Museum.
The Estes Park Museum is the town's major source for information on the lives of early
residents and visitors.

This picture is of Joel Estes (Namesake of Estes Park) and his wife Patsy. Joel Estes was one of the first known white man to see the
Estes Valley (or "park" in parlance of the mountains). A kentuckian, who camped here with his son Milton during a hunting
expedition in mid-October of 1859. By the next summer Estes had
decided to use the park to make a living hunting, fishing and raising cattle. In 1863 moved his wife, Pasty, and their family from the South Platte to live year-round.
The Estes family stayed only until April 1866. The next year their holdings were taken over by the Welshman, Griffith J. Evens, his wife Jane, and their family.
By 1872, Estes Park's reputation as a hunter's paradise was known as far away as London.
Rocky Mountain National Park became a reality in 1915. Since 1915, Rocky Mountain National
Park has been a magnet for the entire region.
Everyone who visits Joel Estes's valley wants to share its magnificent scenery.
Lots more to the History of Estes Park................come and see for yourself.

A story behind each one. Patchwork Storytellers.

The Estes Park area is also host to The Stanley Museum of Estes
Park.

The Stanley Steamer.
F.O. Stanley, co-inventor of the
Stanley Steamer and builder of
the Stanley Hotel.

This is a beautiful place......
I Thank GOD for ALL this
beautiful country he has given us.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
LOVE to all of our followers!
