Old Faithful @ Yellowstone Nat'l Park/July 2008

Old Faithful Geyser is the world's best known geyser. It's eruption intervals have varied from 40 to 126 minutes. As of March of 2008, an eruption lasts 1 1/2 to 5 minutes; the average interval between eruptions is 90 minutes. Old Faithful's height ranges from 106 feet to more than 180 feet, averaging 130 feet. Just prior to eruption, water temperature at the vent is 204 degrees F. Old Faithful is a cone geyser.
We stayed at the west entrance to Yellowstone. The Rv Park was just 4 blocks from the entrance in West Yellowstone. The RV Park was in Montana but we were right on the border of Montana and Wyoming.
Cody was showing us a tree where the Elk rub their antlers.
