Loveland CO. / City with a Heart & Many Sculptures

Sweetheart Town USA!! Loveland, Colorado!!
More at the bottom about "A City with a Heart!!"

AWESOME! AMAZING! INCREDIBLE! ENCHANTING!

Sunday, Sept. 6th, we decided to stay in Loveland and check some things out.

This town really likes it's art sculptures.

Loveland is listed as one of the top 10 art communities in the country. Exquisite bronze sculptures are strategically displayed
throughout the city along roadways and walkways, at business
entrances, schools and parks.

There are several sculpture parks......and we decided to go to
one called Benson Park Sculpture Garden.
It looked like it would be the easiest to find from the RV Park.

IT WAS AMAZING!!!

This is just a "few" of the pictures I took and just a "few" of the
sculptures in that park. It was unbelievable.

Loveland, Colorado is in a valley at the mouth of the scenic Big Thompson
Canyon. Long referred to as the Gateway to the Rockies.

At the Heart of Loveland!!

This is a neat thing that they do here in Loveland, Colorado. For 63 years, Loveland has been re-mailing valentine cards, love letters and postcards received from all 50 states and more than

100 countries around the world. From February 1st to the 14th, more than 50 volunteers gather

at the Loveland Chamber of Commerce to hand-stamp with a rubber stamp, a special message

of love on each of the 200,000 cards sent through Loveland to be sent on to their special recipients.
The nearly 200,000 valentines come in all shapes and sizes and range from elaborately hand-
made to simple but sweet. While most of the cards are addressed to individuals unknown by the

stamping crew, some of the famous recipients have included Lady Bird Johnson, Abigail Van Buren, Robert Redford, Oprah Winfrey, Judge Judy, and this year, President Barack Obama.

The cachet that is stamped on each card is a four-line verse surrounded by a work of art that
sends Loveland's special message of Love, Peace, and Hope to the world. The Loveland Chamber of Commerce holds a local contest to gather artistic designs and verses toward the
development of a new cachet each year. Corry McDowell was the creator of the art work for

2009 cachet. Teresa Boynton authored the verse. The Loveland Post Office commissions the art

for the hand cancellation used to cancel the postage.

These 2 pictures are of the side of

the heart with verse's.

Loveland Colorado......very interesting town.
